The Art of Letting Go

Hiii friends!! I'm back. Diving in today's post more vulnerable than ever.

Let's get starteddd.

Letting go. Letting go has been something I'm sure we have all struggled with. Never has been and never will be easy, yet it is an essential skill to master. To me, letting go is literally an art. It takes discipline, practice, and and most importantly strength. There are many things in life that we have to learn to let go of; jobs that no longer serve us, the past, worry, fear, perfectionism etc.

We've been conditioned to think that everything in life is supposed to last forever. That friends, family, and lovers come to us and are supposed to never leave. I'm sure we've all lost a little bit of ourselves in someone that we thought would stay forever. Let me just say this: it is important to understand that people come and go just as everything else does. Every person that walks your path and contributes to your journey is there to teach you something. Rarely do they have a lesson so great that they come to us to stay forever. Us believing in forever is why we end up so heartbroken when things end, when people leave, when jobs tell us that there is someone better.

The best skill you could ever teach yourself is to learn how to let go with love and grace. To let things flow in and out of your life naturally. Nothing forced is worth keeping.

Become at peace knowing that whatever is meant to be, will be. This practice is short of easy. Only through experience will you get better at it.

Knowing that you are alwaysss in control of your thoughts, feelings, and the way you let life effect you is key. Your mind is the most powerful aspect of your life. Learn to become the master of it. Do NOT let your mind be the master of you.

Be kind, gentle, and loving to yourself. Speak to yourself with nothing but powerful words. This takes a lifetime of practice. Slip ups WILL happen, but the goal isn't to be perfect, the goal is to be better.

Here's to letting go of the idea of forever. Here's to enjoying people and things while we have them, and letting go with grace when the time comes. Be grateful for the experiences, the lessons, memories and continue on your journey. Nothing happens to us, everything happens FOR us.

I truly believe that there is no such thing as a loss, only lessons learned.

LOL I'm so cliche.

Lastly, I want to share one of my favorite sayings, a saying that has guided me through the toughest of times and brought me strength when I needed it most:

"Be so rooted in your being that nobody's absence or presence can disturb your inner peace." -anonymous

PERIODDD kings & queens! <3
